Excell Meat is a registered abattoir situated in Rouxville in the South Eastern Free State, close to Aliwal North. We offer the finest export quality South African meat. We understand that to guarantee the best quality, all stages of production need to be controlled. It starts with the purchase of the healthiest animals from selected breeders and ends with an abattoir that complies with the strictest international standards. Emphasis is on hygiene and quality throughout every process. We are one of the very few abattoirs in South Africa that uses the dry-slaughter technique for slaughtering animals.
Our meat originates from specially selected animals. The carcasses are specifically selected according to strict criteria. These criteria include the age of the animals, as well as the time they are cared for and other criteria which could have a negative impact on the consistency of meat quality and safety.
Health and meat inspections have been done by an independent assignee since 2003 (long before legislation made it compulsory) under the the auspices of Imqas.
